Dear Friends-
Neptune, it's artists and it's friends have worked hard to create and keep this and other local art community supports active.
We have seen many ups and downs together and have always done our best to keep art in the forefront of our lives.
2009 and 2010 have been especially difficult as we have labored to navigate our local economy and politics as well as the greater national economic and political stresses we have experienced.
I personally have experienced an enormous range of emotional and economic factors, some have been good and some bad.
While I/we have not made it out of the woods, I feel that I have landed in an ideal position to launch a new Neptune Studio. It will be nothing like what I first imagined it would be, but at the same time I still feel it will become a great resource for all of us as a community of artists.
I am honored to have the opportunity to provide space for a wonderful group of young adults who are making positive changes through skate, design and video arts. - Not to mention the great feeling in my heart just having them all here. Their passion for life and strong will to reach their goals inspire me to keep working toward my own goals and my renewed passion for life.
After Holla Holla Skates are fully in stalled in our studio location and I have moved my personal residency to the second floor I can begin to reassemble Neptune Studio as a place to make and view art.
I want to thank all of our members/friends who have continually supported me and Neptune with your donations and presence throughout these past 6 years. Your kindness couldn't possibly be repaid - but with any luck the reward is on the horizon.
Thank you - Jan |
